When Samantha & Jordan got in touch to ask if I would photograph their special day, I was so excited. Like me, the couple are from Yorkshire, however, they had decided to travel to Liverpool for their big day for their dream venue, and it's easy to see why Sefton Park Palm House was just that.
When I met with the couple at their stunning venue, I could instantly see why they just had to have this location. Wow – there was nothing not to love. The beautiful glass structure is home to an extensive botanical collection meaning that a visit to the Palm House is a true sensory experience.
On the day of the wedding, we were joined in the bridal suite by make-up artist Caitlin Hall (@glowbycaitlin) & hair stylist Neve Rowan (@byneverowan) who really brought the glam. The incredibly talented ladies gave the already glowing bride & party their extra sparkle ready for the celebrations. As the anticipation & excitement of the day began to mount, the gorgeous little flower girls kept the mood light with their sense of fun!
Sam’s stunning dress was from Ghost Orchid Bride | Designer Wedding Dresses and Bridal Gowns – modern yet timeless with glistening sequins & a perfect train. The beautiful bouquets & floral arrangements were supplied & styled by Heysham Florist & Harmony Events & what a breath-taking job they did. The neutral tones were perfect for this summer wedding & allowed the beauty of the individual florals to speak for themselves.
Spirits with the groomsmen were high – men are always good at hiding their nerves with humour (& beer)! The party looked incredibly smart in matching dinner suits & their bowties made a nice change to the usual ties!
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful – glamorous, emotional & perfect in every way. The location – which already spoke for itself – was finished with some unique touches that made everything feel so personal to Sam & Jordan. What a pleasure it was to be able to capture all this beauty.
After the ceremony the weather outside was perfect for drinks & canapés on the terrace surrounded by all of the natural beauty of the park & accompanied by a string quartet. The little ones had a lovely time playing in the tipi & sneaking sweets from the treat jars!
Back inside the Palm House it was time for the wedding breakfast – a sumptuous three course menu served in a sea of white & gold glamour. The cake – in-keeping with this this luxurious colour scheme – had been baked & decorated to perfection by The Cake Pavilion & it was, in its own right, a work of art!
After the speeches – sentimental, heartfelt & sprinkled with humorous anecdotes as well as singing waiters, this wonderful day drew to a close with all of the guests on the dancefloor! Three cheers for the bride & groom, what a perfect day.
Sam & Jordan– wishing you a lifetime of happiness & love – thank you for choosing me to be part of your special day.
